Close to 25,000 Experiencing Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland found themselves without power on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the state, bringing powerful gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Destruction
Residents reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the extensive power failures.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around 1,000 residents in the southern state also experienced energy failures after the capital city saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
Rescue organizations received 598 calls for help across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At one point on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent storm activity predicted across different parts of both states.
Safety Concern
Medical authorities alerted that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
